Bobby, Danny, Zack and I made the pilgrimage to Cooperstown for the last ever Hall of Fame Game. The weekend got off to a great start with a stop by the Troy Baseball Monument. Then the rest of the way to Cooperstown and the Hall. We spent quite a bit of time there over the next several days.
Ferguson Jenkins was extremely entertaining and the parade was fun even though the parade had ended before the Cubs (or Cubs imposters) arrived. However, as the homerun derby was about to get underway, the heavens opened up. Heavy rain, wind, lightening, thunder and hail caused cancellation of the derby.
Hope lingered as there was a small break in the clouds. The field was uncovered, the ceremonial first page was thrown, Greg Maddux donated the jersey from his 350th win to the Hall and then the heavens opened again and it was time to head home soaking wet.
